The internet is flooded with stock photos, both free and premium. If you run a blog or need some better images for your website and you don’t have the money to purchase premium stock photos, then you’re in luck.
You see, not too long ago, it was difficult to get high quality free stock photos that actually looked professional. Nowadays, we have not just one, but multiple resources for free stock photos. Sites like Pexels, StockVault and Pixabay make it easy for anyone to get their hands on professional photography.
Pexels, StockVault, and Pixabay are definitely the best sources for free stock photos, and that’s where most of our blog photos come from, unless they’re custom made by one of our team members. But 90% of the time, we use a free stock photo. Why not? They look good, they grab the users’ attention, and they make our website look complete.
Having trouble finding the photos you need? MorgueFile.com is another good one, they have over 350k images for you to browse.
Nobody likes a boring website, so if yours is empty with a lot of text and not many images, then now is the time to spice it up with some nice imagery.
Buying stock photos can get very expensive, especially if you’re in need of high-res photos. Web designers and agencies who are always in need of stock photos will often blow a huge chunk of money on them not knowing there are a ton of great resources for free stock photos. Things have changed, the free stuff isn’t so bad anymore.
But yes, if you’re a successful web designer and have the money to use the best of the best, then go for it. But, if you’re just a blogger, webmaster or new professional with a limited budget, then opt for the free images and pay yourself a little more!
